Twas released at the Detroit Auto Show. The new Forte sports looks similar to that of the Stinger, and is about 3 inches longer than it’s predecessor. It carries over the same 147hp four from the last gen, and with the CVT it’s expected to make at least 3 more MPG combined. It’s also available with a manual transmission, so there’s that. Thoughts?

I like this a lot more than the Stinger.

Gets points for having a manual option. Getting rare these days.

Kia’s really looking upwards these days. I like the Stinger and this and have always found the Sorento a good SUV. They aren’t bad looking cars.

Can you still get a Koupe?

I generally like modern Hyundais and Kias. This seems like a perfectly good compact sedan for people who don’t want the wannabe-Lambo styling of the Civic, or the ridiculously outdated and shitty Corolla. But I’ll reserve judgment until they reveal whether it has a proper independent rear suspension or a shitty twist beam.

Unfortunately not. The Koup is dead.

I think that makes the Civic coupe and Beetle the last compact coupes you can buy new in the U.S.

My excitement is palpable.

It sucks that they killed it. The SX variant was actually a formidable opponent to the Civic Si coupe.

I’m a fan! :)

This is so weird. Usually someone hates on a new car in some way, everyone likes this!

I’ve actually been a fan of every gen of Forte so far and have had a very good experience with my Hyundai...I also quite like where their styling is going with both brands, should be interesting to see once the reviews roll in!

I really like what Kia is showing us here...
I actually caught one in the wild this morning during my commute to work. It looks to be a lower trim model, and notice that the gas door is more square than round as found in the “sporty” model presented during the car show. I wonder if what i saw wasn’t just a development model...
To me, it looks like a mix between a Nissan Sentra and Subaru Impreza...

(this post is old but whatever) yeah, but it’s overall better than both. And the gas cap is probably a trim thing. I like the way Kia’s going, they’re taking bigger and better steps and really are trying to squash their ‘90s reputation of being the cheapest and shittiest cars ever. Me likey

All true, but what i especially appreciate is that they dont go and draw crazy design like Toyota and sometimes Honda do nowadays... Kia Hyundai Genesis at least try to have refreshing and yet classy balanced design, not offensive yet not so boring lines...
